Three. Such a big number. Sigh.
I came home from work last night at about 11 and I had to wrap all her gifts. I spent a good half hour cursing Taylor and Liam as I couldn't find any tape. And I used to have about 20 rolls. All gone. I ended up using a glue stick, which was not fun at all. I loved the card when I made it on my weekend away, but when I looked at it last night I wasn't as keen. I had made a fantastic one back in July for a birthday party and this one is very simple compared to that. I don't think I ever took a picture of that one. I made about 10 like this one, and now I am not sure I want to send them out to the bloggers they were destined for.
I do like the inside sentiment though:
I sent Saoirse and Liam down to the basement to get Taylor and while she was gone I brought her presents down from the bedroom and set them on the couch.
This contains an Ariel pool party doll that she had been asking for. It is what she is taking to school on Tuesday for show and tell.
Sophie was very keen on playing with the as yet unopened boxes. I think the expression on her face is pretty cute.
These are the clothes she got. I was actually supposed to post a picture of her and her toys but messed up my numbers. Too lazy to go back.
One of the gifts from Taylor, Liam and Sophie was a princess set with purses, sunglasses, earrings and combs and brushes. She wore these glasses to the grocery store later on.
This is the best picture of her in the birthday girl shirt. I am so not a photographer and she is so not a poser.
In the evening my mum came over, along with her godparents Shelley and Ed. This dress up outfit was one of her gifts from Shelley and Ed, along with light up slippers and a wand as well as an Osh Kosh shirt, socks and 2 pairs of leggings that Shelley picked up when they were in Vegas last week. If I lived in the States I would have the best dressed kids.
Shelley and Saoirse. When they were coming up the walkway Saoirse ran to the door yelling "Anutie Shelley, Auntie Shelley" and was so excited to see her. This is huge...normally she is quite quiet. And even with Ed around she was still talkative and playing around. Big changes at the age of 3.
Blowing out the candles on the cake. I think I got this shot right after the candle went out.
Saoirse, William and I. And the giant Barbie balloon. Quite often Saoirse will ask for one of these helium balloons at Wal-Mart or Safeway and William always says "On your birthday." He took her to Safeway today to buy makings for pizza (her chosen meal) and they came home with this balloon. $8. They would have been better off going to the dollar store nearby. It is cute though.
She had a really great day. After everyone had left she asked if she could have her birthday again. Isn't she lucky that we get to do it all again in 2 weeks with her friends? If I ever get out the invitations that is.

I don't know who told her she was allowed to grow up.

Looks like she did pretty well for her birthday! I don't think my kids get that many gifts from us for their birthdays. The birthday shirt is cute. I've seen them before but they are always short sleeved not quite right for kids with cold weather month birthdays. Hers looks perfect though.
Wow what a haul!! Lucky little girl and oh so cute. I have the same glasses but don't look nearly as cute I just know it :o) Happy Birthday Saoirse!
Happy Birthday Saoirse!!
She certainly looks pleased with her takings;).
A slightly belated Happy Birthday to Saoirse!
It definitely looks like she had a great day.
She looks so BIG!!!!! When did that happen????
Happy belated b-day Saoirse! So sorry I didn't get to wish it on the day!
And that's a cute picture of the three of you (four with the life-size Barbie???)
Looks like an awesome birthday party, wit so many great gifts fun stuff. Happy birthday Saoirse.
I think 3 may be the perfect age for a kiddo...I have terrific memories of when mine were that age! I hope you have a terrific year with your brand new, not a baby, grown up kiddo!
she is adorable and they do grow up so darn fast... *sigh*
fun stuff birthdays.. cookie is pestering me about her b-day party and hers is two days after christmas. what a mess.
looks like she had a grand day!!
Looks like she had a great birthday!
Love the card!
Three is a MAGIC number. Remember School House Rock?
She is precious.
You are beautiful.
First off... you? Stunning. Seriously, you're way way too hard on yourself. And for no good reason.
And that card you made? Serious talent. You need to get yourself a little business going..
And lastly, what a friggin' haul!!!! Emma's gift from us? Her party. Cuz we rock.
so glad she has a great birthday!! I cant believe Randie will be 3 on wednesday...
Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!!
how sweet!!! I love the excitement on her face! You can just see that she is the special girl of the day!
and I love! the birthday card!!!
Wow, she racked up! Happy Birthday, Saoirse!!
You are not the first blogger that I've heard say that the shopping is better in the states. I actually mentioned this to a Canadian couple I met while I was on vacation in FL last month, and they looked at me like I was nuts. I guess some parts of Canada have the good shopping, lol.
Happy belated Birthday Saoirse, looks like a wonderful day.
I love the card.
I think the card is cute!
LOVE the pic of the three of you!! You look gorgeous! Saoirse is the perfect blend of you and William.
Happy belated birthday, big girl! And good job with the party planning, Emma. Everything looks so cute!
All the dress up is unbelievable. And I so agree dollar store balloon any day dammit! BUT look how happy she is.
William looks like a serial killer I saw on America's Most Wanted once but I suspect a LOT of people look like a serial killed if they have shaved heads and don't smile in pics. It does suit him well (unlike Josh who just look a part of the KKK when he shaves his head.) No wonder the children are so darling YOU obviously go full force in them all but those younger two have their handsome daddy as contributor!
You people? So gorgeous it hurts. Seriously what a beautiful family! (Even if half of it is missing from the picture!)
I don't know that I'd ever seen you or William in all my stalking days!
What a cutie pie. :)
Happy Birthday Saoirse!
