Fun Monday - Unfinished Projects

That Blue Momma! She could have made this Fun Monday up just for me, for I am the queen of unfinished projects. My very first cross stitch, started at the age of 18? Sitting in my cross stitch box in the basement? My cross stitch map of Ireland? Left in Ireland (or maybe England) 6 years ago. All of my scrapbooking projects? They are in various areas of my house, partially finished, almost finished, barely started. Such is the world of Emma. You don't even want to know how many drafted posts there are on here.

And apparently my Fun Monday itself has become an unfinished project. Here it is, 20 minutes to midnight, and I have yet to post it. I am waiting for the camera to upload the picture, but I screwed up somewhere and instead of it just letting me download that one picture, I had to do the whole memory card. Currently it is scanning verrry sloooowly for duplicates and since there are some 1000 duplicates, I'm anticipating a long wait. And while I've been waiting I've been working on the project itself. The Christmas cards. I've changed my design, and I like this one a lot better. I've made one and now am working on cutting all my paper. I'm hoping to get at least 10 done tonight.

**UPDATE: I'm still waiting. It's 1.14 am. This thing is going nowhere, but I've almost finished 20 cards!!! Yay me! They are very simple, so I suppose that helps. I hope to start mailing them out this week. I am not sure about card etiquette in the world of blogging. If I know spouse and children names do I make the card out to everyone, or just the blogger? This is a hard one for me, because I feel as though I know some of the families out there when really I don't. Where is that Emily Post book on blogging? Any advice will be appreciated!

My post was about the same way. Frannie teased me that it qualifies as an unfishished project! hehe
I'm not sure about the Christmas cards for bloggers thing either. I'll see what everyone else says....

I would just address all cards to:

"Smith" family-- or whatever the name of the family is. that way you are covered-- and less writing.

Wow 20 cards well done! Hope we are going to get to see them when the camera finally uploads.
I agree with Frannie, less writing that way.

I hate when my camera and/or computer does what I tell it to instead of what I want it to!

Good job on the cards. My job for today is to try and find the cards I bought last year to send this year...lol. Any bets?

Good job on getting so many cards done, E!! I kept coming by to see if you'd done FM. Your b-day's in 19 days....meaning mine's not much longer..........

The way I usually do cards is whoever and family or "Smith Family", but if I really don't know about the family much I will just address it to the person I know. :)

Last year I sent out a couple of cards to some new 'blogging' friends and wrote...for example... "Merry Christmas Emma! Hope you and your family have a great Christmas. I hope Santa brings William and yourself and all the kidlets everything you wish for." I don't know William and the kids and have never met them so it's weird to me to include them at the top there where I say Merry Christmas, but they ARE your family so I want to include them. As for the outside I would put your name '& Family'. So that's how I've been doing it for years with 'new' friends. I'm probably totally wrong and me and Emily Post would have words over this one so don't go by me.

I can upload pictures with no problem, but tasteful homemade cards? Just not happening with my artistic abilities.

My cards will be courtesy of the photo center at WalHell.

Hope things are better now than your Wishing post. I've been thinking about you.

Well, at least you got the post up. I know about those areas of unfinished projects also. I try not to think about it, as it is too overwhelming.

he he he That is funny. And - uh - frustrating. :)

I am bad for starting and then not finishing projects. I have good intentions but things just get in the way! I think it's attention deficit disorder or something...maybe multi tasking which leads me to become scattered...who knows. As for bloggy card etiquitte...the only rule I can think of is be damn grateful if you are a lucky recipient of a hand made card from someone kind enough to take the time to send you one!!!!
