Conversations with Saoirse - Part 2

Mummy: Who do you love?
Saoirse: Sophie. Taylor.
M: Daddy?
S: Yep.
M: Nanny?
S: Yep.
M: Mummy?
S: Oh no, I don't love Nanny.
M: You don't?
S: No. I just like her.

As she is walking out of the kitchen I say: See you later...
S: See you later.
M:...alligator.
S: I'm not an alligator!
M: It's a saying. I say "See you later alligator" and you say "In a while crocodile."
S: But I'm not a crocodile either.

For ages she has been calling Sophie what I thought was "silly goose." Yesterday I found out what she is actually saying. They were playing with playdoh and Sophie kept trying to sit in Saoirse's seat.
S: Sophie, sit down you silly goof.
M: Silly goof! I thought you were calling her silly goose.
S: Her is not a goose! Hers a goof, like Goofy.
M: Oh she's like Goofy?
S: Yes, but I'm not like Mickey Mouse.

Keeping the peace:
Sophie wants something that Saoirse has.
S: Sophie, no! No, Sophie!
Sophie persists and is all over Saoirse.
S: Okay Sophie, you can have it.

Coming home from school today we cross the street and are outside our backyard.
She yells to Taylor who is inside with all doors closed so no chance of hearing.
"Tay! Taylor! Taylor! Woohoo Taylor!"
I love that woohoo.

Talking to Sophie: Awwww Sophie...Sophie, you are such a beautiful girl.

The things children say is just so amusing. I wish I had kept a record when mine were young~ think of the blogging material I would have now!

Funny. Our expression is afterwhile crocodile. I keep learning new ones from you guys. "Hers is a goof." That's priceless. And, only liking Nana??

This made me smile, I love how kids think. I still don't know how to pronounce Saoirse...maybe you answered me in the comments section and I didn't even know it?

BAHAHA!

Boy Child and my dad used to do this. My dad would say,

"See you later, alligator!"
and Boy Child would go,

"Bye-bye you big giraffe!"

It was hysterical.

Very cute. I love when they start making things up and not quite get what is going on, but have an opinion none the less.
