WE REMEMBER...
100,000+ soldiers, sailors, aircrew and merchant seamen who died in two World Wars.
We remember more than 500 who fell while serving in Korea.
We remember Canadians who freely joined the Americans in Vietnam.
We remember more than 100 who have died on peace support operations since 1945.
We remember the more than 70 who have fallen during the current conflict in Afghanistan.
Today we salute the memory of those who sacrificed their strength, health and even their lives...
so that we may live in a free country.
*Can not claim most of these as my own. I believe in borrowing. Others may call it stealing.
And happy birthday to my lovely Saoirse (freedom on Remembrance Day...how very fitting.) 3 years ago at this very moment, 12.53am, they were prepping me for an emergency section. 56 minutes later you came screaming your way into the world. And didn't stop for 2 hours. You've been the center of attention ever since.
