How's this for justice?

An Edmonton man has been sentenced to 46 months in jail for his role in an internet child pornograpy ring.

This is the longest ever sentence in Canada. That is absolutely pathetic. Less than 4 years for distributing pictures and video of children and babies being raped. Babies! Some with their umbilical cords still on. Who in their right mind could watch that, let alone actually do it?

The reason the crown did not request a longer sentence is because this man cooperated and eventually it led to the arrest of 40 people worldwide. It looked like just Canada, the U.S., England and Australia on the map I saw, but apparently includes South America and Denmark.

I am interested in seeing what happens to the others arrested in Canada and around the world and how their sentences will vary. I don't hold out much hope that Canadian sentences will be tougher than the other, sadly our justice system doesn't seem to value children.

That's very disturbing and it's a dreadfully lenient sentence for harm done to the most vulnerable members of society.
