No, not me. Though did you know that I am one of the few relationships William has had in which he is the older of the 2? Apparently he had a thing for older women.
Anyway, this little story is all about my wee Saoirse.
We have a neighbour who just turned 7 on Easter Sunday. Saoirse absolutely loves him. She thinks he is her BFF. Sometimes he will come to our door looking to see if she wants to come out and play on the front lawn, where there is a castle turret to climb and a few soccer balls to kick around. He is really good about including her when the neighbourhood kids are out and about.
So yesterday he comes over and asks if she wants to come out and ride her bike. (She just got a brand new princess bike. So cute!) It's just him and he will just ride with her between our driveway and his.
So she gets on her polar bear helmet (because the ladybug one is not good enough for a bike ride with Lachlan) and goes outside. I look out a couple of times to see her playing on the lawn while Lachlan rides his bike. Look out another time and there is our 5 year old neigbour Faith riding her bike as well.
The next time I look out Saoirse is standing looking out towards the road. I say "What are you doing?" And she says "Mummy, they are too far away." She knows she can not go down the road, she needs to stay where I can see her from the front door.
She then says "Lachlan went with that girl. I don't know her name." I say "That's okay, they will come back. You wait there."
Well, they didn't come back. I looked out a few more times, once she was sitting playing with dirt (yay!), another time she was chalking up the sidewalk, and one time she was just sitting there, pouting, looking off into the distance. I asked if she wanted to come in. "No, I'm going to wait for my friends."
Poor Saoirse! It's a lesson learned early. Boys are fickle!
(Note that I in no way blame Lachlan for leaving Saoirse. I mean, if I were a 7 year old boy I would much rather play with the cute 5 year old over the 3 year old who doesn't fancy washing her face.)

Oh how funny, not for Saoirse, but how things happen at that age, and really life isn't any different through adulthood and even as seniors, although they might not ride the bike down the road. Life lessons start young.
hey!!! you're back lady. yeah..missed reading your blog..:-) poor Saoise.. :(
Poor baby! At least she was good to stay where she was supposed to and not go traipsing off after that boy...lol.
Awww. That must have been rough...on you! Or not. It's hard for me to watch my kids get their feelings hurt. Probably harder for me than them, in fact!
Yeah, good for her for not moving from the front lawn! I'm sure her poor little heart was just broken though! How sad! Hopefully she'll catch the eye of another 7-year old boy soon!
I do not like this Lachlan boy. Poor Saoirse!
Oh, poor girl. At least she's learning early how much men suck.
Oh it's so hard for them to understand at that age!
she's too young to have her heartbroken!! poor thing!
Darn boys...they are stupid (at least that is my experience). Poor girl...at least she knew not to go where she wasn't supposed to!
Is she cheating on my boy????? That is sooo not cool. What about our future grandkids????
I've said it before and I'm saying it again. I love Saoirse. She cracks me up!
Awwww! Poor Saoirse! The heartbreak....
Well that two-timing no good....ok ok he's 7 so I'll take it easy on him. It sure can't be because that other girl is cuter then Saoirse because she's a little doll. Must have been that the other girl can go farther on her bike. Well darn. 3 is much too young to have your little heart crushed.
Aww....that made me so sad for her. I guess these things just get your ready for the rest of your life.
Poor little thing...
Matthew also seems to like older women (his girlfriend just turned 2). Maybe Saoirse can be his new BFF when we make it to Canada :)
Oh crap, not the last time a boy will dissappoint her.
Her first broken heart!
Oh the poor girl. I hope she leans this lesson now and not let it happen to her again as a teenager (as so many of us have!!)
I'm back, I'm back among the living - SO MANY POSTS to catch up on. I'm bummed I missed your questions....but it was fun reading all your answers. Later Gator!
Izzak used to have that problem when he was little. All the kids in the neighborhood were bigger then him and occasionally would leave him waiting for their return that didn't always happen.
