Tell me why....

Tell me why it is that a 10 year old boy can spend the entire evening with you and not say a word about what he needs for school and then when the bus is at the door suddenly says "Do you know where my recorder is?"

Why? Why couldn't he have said this last night when I specifically asked if everything was in his knapsack?

Children frustrate me. Have I said that before?
