Freaking Taxes

I hate tax time, I really do. Not only do I realize just how poor I am but it also calls into play my very poor organizational skills. Most of my tax stuff arrived in January, however I waited until the beginning of March for my T-4 from the hospital. By the time that arrived, where was everything else?

It was not in the handy wee file folder entitled "Taxes" was it? No, of course not. That would be considered convienent.

I found two in the little metal tin where I keep months worth of bills, but I could not find the T-4 from my 5 week job in retail hell. I did eventually find it, in the yellow pages, only to discover that they only took $6.47 for income tax on $1600 earned. So any chances of getting anything back are now kaput.

I sent everything off to my mum who was going to get a friend to do my taxes. She was doing them online and required my pin number as well as my total from last year. Last year? That should be in a handy wee folder entitled "Prior Taxes" but was it? This is me, people, so of course it wasn't. I did find my pin number, which I placed on the kitchen table to give to my mother when I next saw her.

I never saw it again. I have no idea where it disappeared to.

So now someone else is going to do my taxes because I am not together enough to have everything I need and instead of being free it is now going to cost me to have this other person do my taxes.

And on the off chance I do get something back, it is all going to go to my student loan. That's $2700 in the last 3 years. And I still have $2800 to pay. Will it never end?

If you ever attempt yourself, here are your options for netfile software.

New this year is a Careware option.

My parents used TurboTax. That's made for stupid people, so you should be able to use it easily.

Not to say you're stupid, of course. ^_^

I hate income tax time, although the income tax fairy was verrrry good to me this year. Next year won't be the same though, all my tuition was claimed this year and the fact that i'll be off for the whole year sucks too.

Oh by the way, i just remembered you wanted to know baby's name. It's Ava Gabrielle. :)

Ha I hate tax time too and I paid to have mine done this year cost me $300, bastards! But they did get me more of a refund than I had worked out for myself so it was worth it.
