A jar of cards and what I'm reading

Last night I went to a stamp camp where we made a jar of cards. The jars are from Ikea and the paper and stickers are Stampin' Up of course. The jar holds 24 3x3 cards. I only managed to make 19 of them last night. They are pretty simple, which works well for me because I don't do complicated well. I should do ones like these more often, because it is much easier when your colours are already all chosen for you. We had access to 2 word stamp sets and a handful of punches, of which I used the flower one on a few cards. We had a few paper packages to choose from, looking at them last night I really wish I had chosen the Christmas one...would have made a fantastic teacher gift, or even better, a Christmas blogger swap gift.

On Monday I received postcards from CPA Mom, two for Taylor and one for me, a second arrived for me yesterday. Taylor collects postcards so I really appreciate her sending them my way. I also received a Jodi Picoult novel from M, My Sister's Keeper. M was very smart to send a package of kleenex along, as I have done nothing but cry since I started this book and I'm only on page 71! I'm a little worried about what the rest has in store for me.

And because they are 2 of the 5 people I love most in the world here is a photo of Saoirse and Sophie. I love the look on Saoirse's face. And. yeah, I still have the flowery yellow loveseat. I did replace the couch though. But that loveseat is the most comfortable piece of furniture I have ever owned. And if they actually made decent slipcovers I would buy one.

What a brilliant idea for little presents. You need a huge packet of kleenex for JP books have you read "Perfect Match"? Ahh that is a beautiful photo of Saoirse and Sophie.

I cried, too, and I don't seem to cry as much as
other women!
Jodi Picoult writes about such hard subjects, but she has an amazing writing style.

Man, there is no doubt in the world those two are sisters! They look so much alike! Crazy!

Those cards are gorgeous Emma! You made 19 of them in one night???? How is that even humanly possible?

The photo of Saoirse and Sophie is so cute I love the look on her face to and Sophies reaction is cute also

Honestly you do a great job on your cards even when you say they are simple. Sometimes the simplest are the best!

Emma..those cards are awesome!

BTW- I did get the ones you sent me...except my mailman has been dyslexic for about 3 months and keeps giving my packages to my neighbor and he travels..so everything takes an extra week it seems.

Then I've been MIA for circumstances beyond my control....and well ..ya know.

I will GLADLY send Taylor postcards..please email your addy -since I think in a fit to "get organized" I threw away your envelope to me..

You are the most talented person! I love your cards and your babies are so cute. I'll send you some more postcards from Myrtle Beach and Chicago (BlogHer).

Jodi Picoult makes me cry and think with every single book. I'm on my way to reading everything she has ever written.

Sweet sweet girls! Can't believe Sophie is so grown up and how do you get a comb through Saoirse's hair?

If only I'd known about the post card bit! I'd gladly send some your way! I'm just glad the mailman finally delivered my book! HOORAY! I thought, perhaps, the kleenex would get a laugh as you'll need much much more kleenex than that. :)

And those cards your made? Un.REAL. Good cod your talent is unbelievable. I'm just in awe. I say that every time but to explain what lack of creativity and talent I have is pretty impossible.

What a cool idea that jar of cards is. Love IKEA! All the cards look great and so handy all made up ahead of time like that. I need to take a day and do nothing but make cards to have on hand.

All of those little cards are great idea. Handy to grab when you need to send out a card in a pinch. And they're very pretty too. :)

I've heard Jodi Picoult is good. I might pick up one of her books next.

I was a Stampin' Up Queen for five minutes, too :). LOVED your cards! (Did you see my craft Fun Monday last week? that's what I posted, some cards I've made).

The girls are adorable! Gosh, such cherubic cheeks.

Trying to catch up on Fun Monday...even though it's Friday. Off to look for your kitchen :).

Every picture in this post is tooooo cute. Wonderful cards and kids.

I gotta say, the ending of that Picoult book made me furious--it felt cheap to me. I'll be curious to see what you think.
