The occasional rantings of a slightly deluded mum to a teenager, a preteen, a preschooler and a toddler with daily temper tantrums. My life is sometimes a mess, my house almost always is.

Uh...
Germany and Portugal??
Am I close??
Um....the UK should be one.
It's a shame that you two were the only ones willing to give this a go. Either that, or you are the only ones reading me!
Anyway, you're both partially right. It's Portugal and England. I don't think you can say the U.K. as both Scotland and Wales have minority languages, and Emma you would know better than me, but isn't N.Ireland including Gaelic these days?
I got one! Yay!
That England bit is sort of a trick question, though.
I'm not sure about minority language here but I've noticed that some events recently are producing information leaflets in Irish and Ulster-Scots or at least stating on their brochures and leaflets that information in Irish and Ulster-Scots can be provided on request. It strikes me as a bit daft really because it's not as if people who use Irish and Ulster-Scots don't understand english whereas there is a large chinese population in Northern Ireland esp. Belfast who would benefit from information being in Mandarin and no-one ever thinks about them.
Although everything here is required by law to be in both English and French, we also have a huge Asian population and I haven't seen anything in any of those languages either. I suppose that in moving to an English speaking country they are expected to learn the langage. And I guess most of them do.
