Ach, my poor damaged leg

This is my first official 'please pity me' post. Yesterday morning I fell down the stairs and as I tried to steady myself at the bottom I stepped on Saoirse's bowl and totally lost my balance. I think my legs went in two different, slightly opposing, directions but I am not entirely sure as all I can really remember is screaming my head off. Now, being of a slightly clumsy nature, I have fallen down stairs many times, along with tripping on cracks in the sidewalk, however, I normally pick myself up and go on with my day. Not yesterday though, I lay on the floor for an hour and a half and then, when I was feeling brave, William helped me to stand up. I put my weight on the leg that didn't hurt and that ankle turned on me (the wee bugger.) I made it to the sofa where I lay for the majority of the day. Normally, I would give anything to lay on the sofa all day and read a good book (currently Marian Keyes 'Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married' for about the fifth time) and be served tea and other drinks and snacks and all and to have absolutely no responsibilities but this was most certainly the wrong time for this to happen. Taylor will be home on Monday and the Scots arrive on Wednesday, and as much as I love William he does not clean bathrooms and there are 3 to be done, and the last time he was here I banned him from doing laundry as he has a tendency to wash jeans with the whites and the results are none too pretty. We have 8 fences to replace this weekend and I have 2 housing inspections to do and as I said earlier, the timing is totally off.
I refuse to go to the doctor because mine is a quack and I won't go to the hospital, as I work there and do not want to run into anyone I know. Anyway, I was in too much pain to shave my legs and who wants a doctor running their hands down their prickly legs? Not me. My leg still hurts this morning, but if I turn it to the left and sort of slide it along the pain is not too awful. I'm not sure about going out in public but it will have to be done at some point today as I have to go to the hardware store for paintbrushes and whatnot for the fences. Poor me, I will be walking around looking like the guy from 'The Night of the Living Dead.' Shame.
