Bloody Rogers Sportsnet

So the EPL season starts on Saturday. I was quite excited a few weeks ago to learn that Aston Villa would be playing Arsenal for their opening game. Not because I thought they would win, because really the chances are highly unlikely; Martin hasn't had a chance to work that Irish magic yet, but because they were playing one of three teams that Sportsnet almost always shows the games for. (That would be Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U.) So today we looked up the BBC schedule and great excitement for William as Liverpool is playing the early game. He will gladly get up at 5.30 for Liverpool (I am not such a great fan, I won't set an alarm for Aston Villa) and we said the chances of Arsenal's game being shown were very likely, after all Man U is on Sunday and Chelsea is only playing Manchester City. So it would be either the 8 am game or the 10.30.

But no. Who have they chosen to show on Saturday but Newcastle vs. fucking Wigan!!!!! The 10.30 game is no better- Bolton vs. Tottenham.

Which all makes me very unhappy.

In other things that piss me off news.... Randy Lerner is the new owner of Aston Villa. And no offense to the lovely Americans who may read this blog, but I'm not really a fan of Americans owning English football teams. (Nor am I fan of Russians owning them...I'm not picking on Americans here.) There's just somethign so wrong with it.

However, I am trying to look at this positively and I am thinking that maybe Aston Villa might play some games over in the States. And I could go. And then reality hits and I remember that not only am I poor, but I am also one of 10% of the Canadian population who does not live within 100 miles of the American border so chances are that going to a game, even were it in Seattle, is not very likely. Unless I win the lottery.

Of which the chances are very slim.

So not only am I annoyed with Rogers Sportsnet, but I also am very annoyed with American football owners who piss a girl off at the same time as briefly raising her hopes to see her favourite team play only to have them dashed again.

Note that I totally realize this post makes zero sense. But it does to me, and really isn't that all that matters?

ffsake Emma !

calm down.

Martin is the man.

3-2 defeat for Arsenal in their first Premiership game in their nice, shiny new stadium.

Did you know that Celtic played Chelsea last week ?

Celtic fans were attacked by an amalgam of Chelsea, rangers, falkirk, airdrie and millwall casuals -all arranged over the net.

What kind of scum plan to attack people at a football match ?

- huns -thats who.

hope you and baby are fine.

cheers.

I used to support Liverpool when I was a kid. I even had a Dalglish is Magic sweatshirt. Now I am showing my age. Although I still follow the football- I watch Sky Sports News religiously every day but I've stopped following one particular team. That may change with the appointment of Martin O Neill. I love him!! I think he is a great manager.

I would like to take this opportunity to say that William's level of excitement will only grow and grow this season as the mighty REDS will march to title number 19. Which in turn will mean more and more games on good old
Rogers Sportsnet.

I do however believe that with a few bob given to MON to strenghten the team he will push Villa to a European spot.

As for the alliance of Chelsea, Rangers, Millwall, Airdrie and Falkirk, such a collection of scum supporters the world will never see again. Or that is probably till Celtic play in London again.

Sportsnet has no choice in what games they show. They are not offered all the games. Ask them. feedback@sportsnet.rogers.com
