Just guess. Just fucking guess.
LICE!!!! Two of my four kids have lice.
In 12 years of parenting I have yet to deal with this, and I am appalled.
Freaking Liam picking up lice and passing it off to Saoirse.
I'm off to buy nit treatments, freeze all the pillows and wash all the bedding.
Ack. I'm so ucked out.
You see what I get for making Liam wash his hair??? Freaking LICE.

Eeek!!!! You poor thing!
I'm guessing they have an outbreak at his school?
I'm sending you lots of good thought to keep it contained to only two kids! :(
OK, now my scalp is itchy from posting that...
Oh that sucks!! Kaylie's daycare had an outbreak back in the spring! Thank goodness she didn't get any!
Oh no! Better you've discovered it now than later.
ugh!! Lice SuCkS!! I had lice once when I was 5 months preggo with Wesley!! I was a preschool teacher at the time!! Damn kids!! LOL!!
eeeewwww!
EGADS. Liam is really out to get you lately. Poor Emma. And with your dad there, too. Shucks. I'll send you good vibes.
Oh, boy. Could be worse, though. Could be bedbugs, roaches, crabs... heehee
That is just not good....
We have been lucky so far, but I know anyone can get lice. Ewwww.
Yeah, With love, fat girl is right bed bugs would be worse.
Emma, most of those products only kill the lice. Not the eggs attached to the hair.
Get a good quality fine comb. You can either use a hair conditioner - or olive oil (some use mayo - yuk!). Comb the conditioner or oil (generously applied!) through each child's hair, section by section - until you don't see anymore eggs coming off onto the comb.
Some of those hair clip thingies that hairdressers use - are really helpful to keep clipped up in sections.
Get a grubby towel to wipe the comb on.
Get a BIG beer, cider or G&T and go to town;).
Repeat again in two weeks.
Bless your heart!
OH! Remember, lice only go for clean hair. Don't get too freaked out;).
Ok this sucks big time. Tis that time of the year though isn't it. I know because I used to be on lice duty at our school when the kids were really young. Talk about volunteering for a job no one else wanted. I did it once and only once!! Happy washing, freezing, combing and itching.
Eeek! We had that happen when the girls were in daycare once and it took forever to get them to stop coming back. I found a comb that actualy has little electric pulses when it hits the lice and combs out the eggs thats what it took to get rid of theirs. Kenzie has realy thick curls then to and it was a nightmare to get them out! Tiger lamb girl has a lot of good advice to and she's right you'll need to check again in 2 weeks to make sure they are all out just in case some eggs got left behind.
Good luck! I totally feel for you right now.
Fortunately we have had lice in our house. We did have a child with impetigo and still took her to a family dinner after diagnosis. We told her not to get her face close to the dog or touch her face. At 10:30 we got a call from our nieces husband wonder what the ramifications of getting it were. The niece was bathing the dog. I yelled, "Don't tell him about how you can have limbs fall off". We thought it was rather ridiculous that she had to wash the dog so they wouldn't get it.
You have my sympathy! Our kids managed to get lice at one point...what a pain in the ass.
OH NO!!! I hope you get rid of it FAST before anyone else catches it.
I pray it never happens to my chidren.
You poor thing. It just freaks you out doesn't it. It is like, " What the hell?!?Not my babies." I wish you a quick extermination.
Oh crap! What a pain. My cousins used to get this all the time from their school. What a pain it was to get rid of!!
This is your first time???? Lucky you. We've had the pleasure a few times and it's gross!!! The fact that the whole family needs to be treated and the bedding washed makes it so painful! In my experience combing works better than all those potions and lotions.
ACK!
Gross. Just gross.
Kill the suckers.
Yikes... hope you get them all before the other kids get it!!
Girl I feel for ya!! Good luck on a fast extermination!
I think you've had lots of advice so I'll just say good luck with the treatment.
ohh im so sorry i know that means days of no sleep while cleaning
hope you get it all taken care of soon..
