So Liam has lice. Well, the lice is all gone, but the nits... 6 hours of combing and the nits are still there. William is cutting his hair tonight, which will include many tears on Liam's part and much yelling on mine I am sure. Oh no, it won't because I am going to meet the teacher at his school tonight.
And Saoirse had lice. Only a few, all gone now. There were only a few nits as well. As I looked through her hair this morning I saw a couple I had missed and picked them out. There's probably a few more, that I will catch when I can and hopefully before they hatch. You can only get an almost 3 year old to sit still for so long.
But guess who else has lice?
Not Taylor, who wore her hair in a ponytail and covered it in half a bottle of hairspray.
Not Sophie, who has almost no hair for them to enjoy.
Not William, who shaves his head.
Who does that leave?
MMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh God it was awful. Last night before I went to bed, my head started itching. I brushed my hair over the sink and 4 or 5 licey ucky things landed in the sink. No nits thank God, so I did a quick wash and went to bed. This morning there was no itching, no lice but I'm still doing a treatment once Sophie is down for her nap. better to be safe than sorry.
I hope that was it. If this goes on for weeks and weeks as I hear it is likely to do I will honestly have a breakdown.

I've heard really good things about their anti-lice product:

I'm so sorry you are going through this.
Oh, holy hell in a handbasket. You so do not deserve this. Ugh. And, poor Liam getting a buzz cut. Tell him he looks like a military fighter pilot. That may soften the blow.
to keep this from being an ongoing battle treat everyone once a week, comb hair for nits every three day and wash everything in the house several times over put all stuffed toys in a plastic bag with no chance of air outside for a while then before bringing them back in use the spray on them it comes with the treatment or should, for all sofas drapes stuffed animals etc... this suck i hate dealing with it have done so a few times though as i have a niece and nephew ...
Oh my! You have made me feel all itchy. When my kids were small they would ride the church bus so mommy could get some studying done. They lady who dove the bus had three children and brought them round one week while they all had lice. EEK! Of course my kids got it and then so did I - horrible stuff. Lots of cleaning and shampooing even when it was supposedly all gone I shampooed way longer than necessary.
oh you poor thing! those creatures are hard to get rid of!
oh...I am so sorry! I used olive oil in my hair since I was preggo and it got everything out! You could do this few times on everyone to make sure the little buggers are gone and not have to keep using the yucky chemicals!
Oh, I feel so bad you're having to go through this! I think all the Blue's would be sporting chrome domes if the buggers come to visit our house!
And what about pets? Do you have pets? Can they catch it?
This really sucks!
Well holy crap! Who did you piss off? Gah! I hope that you and Saoirse get rid of them soon. And of course, poor Liam. I am sorry he has to get his head shaved!
Lice are absolutely disgusting. I had them when I was in kindergarten, so it's been a while since I experienced it firsthand, but working in a school, I had to deal with students who had them once in a while. Last year was the worst! If this goes on for weeks then you're doing something wrong. Wash everything!!!! Make sure their backpacks are washed! One top of the chemicals, we also gave the kids tree oil to put in their hair afterwards...this is why black people tend not to get lice...they usually add oil to their hair. Lice don't like it!
Oh suck-o-rama! I'm so sorry!
What a nightmare! I was left a gift by the pupils after one of my teaching practices not pleasant. Hope they all go soon.
Gah, this made me reach up and scratch my head.
Emma, seriously? Get a bottle of conditioner and comb it through your hair - section by section with the fine-toothed comb. The conditioner slows the lives ones down enough for you to get them out. AND? It helps break the nits free from the hair follicles.
And as everyone else said - make sure the linens are all washed. (change everyone's towels daily too - until the nits are gone).
Defo suck-o-rama a la Chick!
Repeat in two weeks.
Have a stiff vodka or whiskey - whatever your tipple - for good measure;).
xo
Oh Lawdy! My head's itching just thinking about it! So sorry....
Oh poor you, my head used to get itchy when the kids had them but I never found one in my hair! I think I may have shaved the old head if I had!
I've been scratching my head like a maniac during this entire post.
Oh you poor, poor thing! First the stealing, now lice? Why is that boy doing this to you???
Oh poor you!
Hope you get all the lice out of everyone's hair...my head's starting to itch now!
Oh My, how horrible for you. I have heard of lots of home remedies for lice, but I don't know if they work. I hope they go away soon!
Ok now I am really feeling for you! I've heard they're tough to get rid of but your persistant so you'll get them!
