Seriously, England...wtf?

So I said I'm going for England in this World Cup, due to the fact there will never be a Canada and Ireland pulled a royal fuck up in the qualifiers. So why is it that last week I found myself cheering for Trinidad and Tobago? And why today did I cringe when Ecuador bounced a ball of the crossbar in the first half and why did I not get excited when David Beckham scored in the second half? Aside from the fact that it was Beckahm of course, which forced me to then watch Posh Spice jumping up and down. It's for the following reasons I think.

I'm still on a rant about Owen Hargreaves, who played the entire game today and who it was also said is not even the child of an English parent...one is from Wales and the other Ireland. Call me foolish, but I am quite sure that makes him of British and Irish descent, not English so why is he playing for England. I'm not sure of the rules for playing for teams within the U.K. so someone enlighten me if a Scot or a Welshman can play for England and vice versa. Still all that does not deviate from the fact that he is actually CANADIAN and was the only player aside from Wayne Rooney who didn't even lip sync the words to God Save the Queen. And we all know why Wayne Rooney didn't...

...'cause he's a wee fecker, that's why. There is not a whole lot that William and I agree on but we are quite united in our hatred of Wayne Rooney, as well as most everything else Man U related. It pissed William off that England was so dependant on Rooney, as though he is what all their hopes are hanging on. And it gets at us both the way he acts on the pitch, like a whingy 11 year old girl. Much like my Taylor really. He was the one who knocked into two players today and then fussed because there was not a penalty called. He hits, he gets hit and whinges. I won't just blame Rooney for this, soccer players are terrible for it altogether. There aren't many who would survive a night in the NHL, even with all that padding.

And totally getting away from England, who look to go out in the next round leaving me NO ONE to cheer for, but staying with the World Cup theme...what the fuck is up with those hideously ugly Roots shirts with the beaver saying Come on England or Argentina or whatever. $30 for crap, really.

This isn't the one I'm thinking off...the other one has a giant brown beaver on it.

Im not really sure what to think of this Emma... I was talking to hubby about this and he told me that Randie could do the same thing. She was born in canada but her daddy is English so that automatically makes her a british citizen.. she even has a british passport.. She could play for canada or England.

I think my question now Tonya is...that if he doesn't want to play for Canada should he not then only be entitled to play for Wales or Ireland, not England? I realize he is of British descent but the U.K. is separated into four teams.

I said that when I posted about it before that I could actually play for 4 countries. Saoirse could play for 5 and really if you could play for any of the British teams it puts her up to 7. Ridiculous I think.

Anyway, what really pisses me off is that he is not playing for Canada, the country he was born and raised in, and who need him way more than the English team do

hubby was reading about him the other day and he is entitled to play for a whole bunch of different places it seems including any teams here in the UK.

Like I said im not into sports but from what I hear from my MIL the england team sux..lol Dave says they are alright (he is not into sports either) I guess if I were more into sports I would feel differently.. maybe as you do.. but because Im not I don't really care who he plays for..lol
