Tomorrow

I am so, so excited about tomorrow. It is William's staff Christmas party. It will also be our first child free night since the arrival of Saoirse, as my mum is having all 4 children for a sleepover. A birthday/Christmas gift should arrive early in our household, one should hope.

William is somewhat dreading tomorrow. He is not one for parties or crowds at all really. He is only going because he knows I want to. I am saying that after the amount we have spent he is going to go and stay until the end. It is at the Country Club so he needed a suit. Along with that he needed a new belt and a decent tie. I think he probably purchased his last tie in 1987...not pretty! He also needed dress shoes. I needed (well, wanted) a dress. I really lucked out as my friend Shelley found one that had been marked down from $90 to $15. It's nice and it looks alright on me. I suppose that for $15 I can not expect it to make me look skinny and gorgeous. I suppose that wouldn't happen even at $1000. I am what I am, she sighs.

I am taking the girls to our community league Christmas party tomorrow morning, which Taylor's Pathfinder unit is hosting. I will bring them home at 12.30 and then I am off to the hairdresser. I couldn't get into my regular gal, I guess phoning a week ahead doesn't work during the Christmas season, so I am trying a whole new place. I'm hoping my hair works out okay. I will go with the collar length layers that won the poll, but I didn't think I would have time to have it coloured. I am also having my makeup done for me. I don't wear makeup normally. In fact, I do not even know how to put on eyeliner. Yes, I am a capital L loser. I may get my eyebrows done too, another thing I have never done.

Now to just be able to get a picture of the two of us together would be fantastic. They are very few and far between and I usually delete any because I always look like a fat sack of shit. Hopefully, tomorrow I will not.

Oh and guess what? William said I could get him a Tivo for Christmas. He laughed when I asked if he would like one, because he is not a stupid man and he knows it is really for me. But I am fairly nice and will let him use it occasionally, he can record some of those silly sci fi shows he watches and all those Liverpool games on Setanta. Since we pay $14.99 a month for that one lone channel he had better take advantage! As long as they don't interfere with my shows of course. Because even though it will be his Christmas present? We both really know it will be mine.

well, I too identify with the destroying of photos in which I look like a fat sack of shit... this is why I take the photos... *sigh*

so selfless of you, with the tivo. If we could afford one, I would do the same thing... :)

lol, Emma.
I just bought some eye cream, mascara, lip gloss, Leona Lewis's new cd and a nice handbag. They are my Christmas presents from my husband to me.

It's a good method. Really;).

A tivo would so be for me also. Mostly because I can't get him to get off the tv in the evening and never get to watch my own shows!
We don't really have any pictures of us together in forever either and I don't post my own pictures very often.
Hope you enjoy your evening! I'm jealous...

Have a wonderful evening and I hope you manage to get a photo taken that you will show us. I'm sure you will both look great.

Have a great date night! As for the photos, don't delete them even if you think you look bad. One day you will look back and realize that you really didn't look as bad as you thought and you will appreciate all of the photos of yourself (so will your kids).
Have fun!!!

I hope you have a great night. I sympathize with the picture thing - I delete so very many of me, I doubt there are any lying around! :)

Have a terrific night!

All of us are right about the photos, too. I started putting together a scrapbook and my grandkids are SO excited when there is a picture of me because there are so few. They really don't care that I looked like a beached whale!

Congrats on scoring with the Tivo. Hopefully you'll score the other way with the kids away.

Sounds like things are really coming together for you in the gift department. We had family photos done today, and I am pretty sure I won't like me in them for the same reasons you mention, but I will have to keep them as the rest of the family will want a photo of me should I meet my demise in a skiing incident or something.

I, too, have zero idea with what to do with an eyeliner pencil, or OH MY GOD... even worse - eye shadow. Contouring? Shading? Blending? WTF??!! And me? I'm so cheap that when I have a wedding or affair that I need to put on my purdy face? I go to the closest MAC or whatever counter and have them do it for free... then I buy something lame like a lipgloss or bronzer, cuz that's all I know how to do. Or mascara... but I'm cheap with that too - that's a Shopper's purchase.

Have a great time at the party (but watch out, when I've had my makeup done they make me look like a hooker!)
Now that's a smart man with the Tivo!

Oh I hope you had so much fun!!!! Good for you for treating yourself to a day of pampering before the big event.

I? Also don't know how to apply eyeliner. So I don't own any. Every time I've tried to put some on, I look completely ridiculous. Sweetie Pie keeps wanting me to take makeup applying lessons, because he thinks it's so weird that I don't know how to do make up.

Ooooh, I hope you guys had a great time at the party and I really hope there are pics!!!

I don't know how to apply eyeliner either.

My fave part of Husband's xmas parties was watching the company drunk get all sorts of sloshed and make a fool of themselves... ahh, the holidays bring up such warm memories.
