A little trivia contest

In honour of Frannie, who loves contests and giveaways I offer you this on a very, very small scale.

My daughter's school is named after someone from the court of King Henry VIII. Tell me who it is, what fate befell him/her and what you think her school mascot would be.

Any correct answers will be put together and the winner drawn by Taylor this weekend.

The prize will be sent in the New Year and you know all it's going to be is cards or something similar. Maybe some Canadian chocolate too, if the winner happens to not be from here.

And the prizes from the last little contest? Have been purchased and will be mailed to Chris and Karmyn this Thursday. Yeah, it takes me forever but eventually I do it.

Duh...I guess I should have said email me the answer because one could just copy the answer they see. emmamcdon@gmail.com Sorry to have deleted your answer AFF! But I'll remember what you said!

I, uh, did a little research and figured out the answer. I don't want to win by cheating, so I'll e-mail you with my answer so as not to ruin it for anyone else.

Is it sad the most of my knowledge of Henry VIII's court comes from the Showtime TV Series, The Tudors? Since then, I've actually paid attention to the history channel specials and the few college books my hubby has on hand about that time period.

No guess though.. several silly ones pop into my hand.. but they are inappropriate for children's school names!

Jane whatshername. Damnit, her last name escapes me. She got jilted by Henry....and then beheaded.

This post and its comments only furthered the reality that I have ZERO knowledge outside of AMerica.

I could figure it out pretty easily if I weren't so dragged down right now. I also know a fair chunk of English history. Jane the wife wasn't beheaded, she died of illness after having the sickly son who died at an early age.
