Bailing on Fun Monday once again

I really don't like this working until 10.30 on Sunday night and going back at 7.30 Monday morning deal. It is so not working for my blog and I. Although if I manage to get them to pay me time and a half for it I won't mind so much.

So work is why I have not done Fun Monday. I meant to do it Sunday before work but we went to Wal-Mart in the morning and I cleaned in the afternoon. Yeah, that fairy is still in hiding. She must have a sneaking suspicion that the exhaustion from cleaning my house top to bottom might actually kill her. Technically it's still Monday but who's going to be looking for Fun Monday posts on a Tuesday? People move on. Unless they are reading Chick's 12 days of how she and Jason ended up together in which case you are dying to go back to her blog in the hope of an update. If you aren't reading it, go. Go now. I will wait.

See? Wasn't that worth clicking that link? Told ya.

I will do the questions that were sent last week, but quite possibly not until Wednesday. I have to do the grade 6 pages of the school yearbook, which is due right away and I have done NOTHING. Plus I have to work tomorrow and Wednesday. Seriously, I don't know how you people do it.

I'm going to leave you with a conversation Saoirse and I had.

Background: We are working on potty training. I haven't been overly fussy about it, I really don't want her trained until after we get back from BC because I don't fancy potty breaks every hour during the car ride. She often chooses to wear panties during the day and if she wants she can hold that pee for hours. (Of course, I assume she wouldn't if we were actually in the car.) But when she needs to go it's wherever she is.

Me (noting that Saoirse has not peed all afternoon): "Saoirse, do you need to use the toilet?"
Saoirse: "No, thank you." (She is nothing if not polite.)
M: "Would you like to put on a nappy?"
S: "No, no thank you."
Saoirse walks off the rug and onto the carpet.
S: "I go pee on the carpet."
M: "NO!!!!!!!" I run over and pick her up by the arm (I'm nothing if not gentle) and run through the livingroom, into the entryway and to the bathroom. I sit her on the toilet.
M: "We don't pee on the floor, Saoirse. We pee on the toilet. Okay?"
S: "Okay."
M: "Where do we pee?"
S: "On the carpet."

Saoirse is a funny girl! lol.......

If I was working until 10:30 at night I don't think I would get my Fun Monday posted either Emma. I've posted late Mondays though if its something I really think might be fun to post. I guess I figure its just for me anyway.

Laughing at you and Saoirse (in the nicest possible way).

I so wouldn't be laughing if it happened here!!!

P.S. I agree with Terri about posting late. I often check the nexk day for the few that were not posted the day before.

I always check for fun mon posts the next day because of time differences.

Good luck with the potty training she's got you on the run! !

i never remember it's fun monday anyway, so if one popped up on a tuesday it wouldn't faze me a bit. go for it. isn't this week's supposed to be where you relax? i suspect your real reason for not posting is, well, when in the hell do you relax?

funny about peeing on the carpet. my puppy used to do that too. without talking about it.

Oy.

But first, Chick. OMG - HOOKED.

As for peeing... yeah. Emma isn't quite getting that she has go on the potty BEFORE she pee's.

Long story... I'll blog about it. Sure.

That's so funny. Both my kids took to peeing where ever they wanted. I look back and laugh now. But it wasn't one damned bit funny at the time.

My house last night - little man running around in his Superman underpants, comes in to the living room where we have guests and says, Mommy, My make wee wee - oh good boy sez I, let's get a sticker, he says - on the kitchen - oh oh - yup little puddle of wee in the middle of the kitchen floor, oh well, the dog pees there from excitement every day when we get home so I guess it's not that big a deal. Little man didn't get a sticker though and the guests were a bit appalled, they had just told us they're expecting in January, being exposed to potty training was probably a bit much ha ha.

LOL! And you thought all of that time she was holding it for hours. You might just have some unkown pee deposits on that carpet of yours! ;)

Funny, I had a dog who thought the same thing about the place to pee - maybe carpets have some comforting quality to them. Go ahead and post Fun Monday late if you want - I didn't quite make the deadline either!

Reminds me how much I appreciate my teens LOL Ah the days of potty training. Makes for funny blogging though! Take it easy you and try and slow down a bit.

I'm sorry but that was too funny!

I haven't had to deal with potty training for some years now, but we got a puppy last August and we had to train him again and it reminded me of why I was glad I had my kids so young.

Omg woman. I've had SUCH a busy day - and every spare moment I keep rushing back to my 'puter to read the next installment of Chick's 12 days. Everyone's in bed now and damnit, I'm gonna finish it tonight.

Uhm. Just wanted to say thanks for the link. Good night. That is all.

Well now, my Saoirse must have been talking to your Saoirse because that's exactly why I keep deserting potty training!
