Things I forgot and/or discovered about my job

1. I don't hate my job. I just don't like it very much.

2. Women are much more modest than men about hiding their bits and pieces. Men just let it all hang out. And believe me, a 90 year old penis is not so pretty. And the scrotum, yikers.

3. Some people work really hard. Others...not so much.

4. Some people missed me. Someone didn't remember who I was.

5. If you talk a lot about kids people will forget to charge you the $10 for a new ID card.

6. Without my ID I could not get into Emergency or MRI/CT.

7. I better not forget my ID like I always did before.

8. There's a lot of new people working in my department.

9. Canada is considering introducing 18 month maternity leave, and eventually 21/2 years. (I read that in a magazine during some slow time.)

10. If Canada does that in the near future, I might just find myself up the duff.

11. The best place to have children is France. (Still reading, there was a lot of down time in the late afternoon.)

12. Tomorrow I train in pharmacy with my favourite co-worker, who was off today. Looking forward to seeing her!

13. A woman's work day is never done. Though my lovely fella did make dinner.

It doesn't sound like it was all bad... you got some reading time in!

Lol at you not having to pay for your ID card.

Funny about the maternity leave thing.........wow 18 months! That's amazing. And if he cooks dinner for you regularly too, tehn that would be great!

Doesn't sound too bad then :) Wow you had dinner made for you!! That has to be worth something.. lol

Eeewww!! A 90-year-old weiner... just the mental visual makes me want to hurl.

As it is, right now I look at Michael's little baby weiner and it's so cute... then over to Jeff's, and his is just so, so... BIG. (Well, it's average - just big in comparison.) And it's not like I see it too often either!

Anyhow, what exactly is it that you do?

1st hurdle over and it doesn't sound too bad; well worth it to have dinner cooked!!

Just curious, what do you do?

Back to work....that always sucks. You know America has nothing for maternity leave? It's a big crock!

so what do you do?

18 months - 2 1/2 years??!?!?!

I'm now seeing the reason you Canadians love it there.

Well I'm glad you don't hate it.

2 1/2 years of maternity leave? Geez...we get 6 or 8 weeks..and that depends on the company...must be so nice.

I myself love 90-year old penises (or is it penii???) I'm actually kidding. 80 is my cut off.

Glad the first day didn't suck! And that you got lots of reading time. 18 months to 2 years? Man! That's insane!!!!

I'm pleased for you that your first day back was good!

So does this 18mos-2yrs thing mean more children are in the making;)?

Screw this, I'm moving to Canada!

I'm glad that your first day back was pretty good! How sweet of William to cook dinner. Could you please ask him to call my husband. Thanks.

I'm glad your first day back didn't go too badly. And I'm glad that you have someone fun to learn a new job with.

wow, mat leave of 18 months...2 1/2 years? makes me want to reconsider returning to work and having another bambino!

The junk hanging out part sounds bad. The rest isn't so bad.

Wow #4 sounds surprisingly close to the T home. Not good on the weinee thing but everything else sounds like it was pretty ok. Sounds great about the 18 months to 2 1/2 years off. I have teenagers so it's looking up for when they're ready to have kids. If they have any. My luck they'll all just buy dogs and I'll get to babysit stupid mutts. But back to you. Glad the first day was liveable.

Sounds like a pretty good list - except for that 90 year old scrotum. That can't be pretty!

Sounds like a pretty good day back at work. Well except for the 90 year old thing....eewwwwww.
I am so jealous of your maternity leave now let alone 18 mos to 21/2 years! Like others said we only get about 12 weeks and that isn't gauranteed pay just a job after.

Glad your first day back wasn't too bad. 90 year old penises must be a hazard of the job, huh?

18 months to 2 1/2 years maternity leave sounds amazing! I saw on a TV show the other day that there are only five countries in the world that don't have paid maternity leave and yep you guessed it, Australia is one of them :o(

I'm all for nr 9! Then maybe I'll move to canada and have another baby!

Up the duff = pregnant??? I've never heard that terminology.

For the kid's sake, 3 years of maternity leave would be perfect, but I wonder how it would affect employment. I'm sure legally the employers can't discriminate, but c'mon, you know they will, and I could hardly blame them.

France is nice to little ones, but they end up unemployed 20 years later, LOL.

Anyway, good luck with work :)

Thanks for reminding me how much I love the phrase "up the duff." We don't use it in the States much...but should!

I love talking to people so much they forget to charge me for things. Well played, Emma.

Ahahaha, you're a nurse correct? The 90 yr old weiner and no attempt at hiding it gives it away. I know JUST WHAT You mean. We saw a patient with underwear on once and that was "weird", imagine that. LOL.

Well damn at the maternity leave getting longer, I'll never get use from the extended time, because this is the last, hubby is waiting on the good ol' vasectomy.
