Confirmations and a question *LINKS FIXED!

Tonight is Taylor's Confirmation. Tonight is also my monthly stamping club, where we are to decorate journals. Urgh. What is the Catholic heirarchy thinking, scheduling a confirmation on the night of my stamp club? Because yes, it is all about me, not the 40 or so children involved in tonight's proceedings. I am hoping to do a runner out of the church the moment it is over and make it to the last hour of stamp club. Even if I don't have time to make the journal, I can at least pick it up and place my order. Oh, my order! I have to fit in all the retired stamp sets I want in the next two months, today I am ordering Pretty Princess because I figure with two little girls there are bound to be plenty of girl birthday parties. Plus there are lots of bloggers with little girls to make cards for come my October get away. I am also ordering Pocket Fun, because it is one of my favourites and why I have never ordered it I just don't know. And then I have a bunch of other things to order, punches and paper and whatnot. My party is June and I hope people remember how well I ordered at their parties so that I do well in my hostess credits.

And on to the question. Do you have a favourite child? This is something I think a lot of parents deny, but I believe that most of us have some preference, even if we don't use the word favourite. I have been thinking about this a lot lately, because there is just something about Saoirse. While I love all my kids, that child just makes my day. Perhaps it is her age, at 2 1/2 she is just so amazed and thrilled with everything and she hasn't really done the terrible twos. She's bossy and precocious and makes me laugh so often. I could get more into this, since there was a time when I had just two children and could easily define my favourite, but I'll wait to see what you lot say.

Seriously, how could a person not love that devilish grin? And in the thumbnail pic I couldn't tell that her face was dirty. Oops. Nothing new there. William says it's the Australian in her, but I've never seen Sam's girls with dirty faces. I do blame him though, he who will put her to bed with a dirty face, or take her out in public. Honestly, men.

My brother is my mom's favorite.

And my dad's.

Aw, Chick, you just made me feel so guilty! I was going to edit the post to add: Did your parents have a favourite? How did you feel about it?

Because my brother was my mum's favourite, even though she denies it to this day. I was my dad's though.

I'm bummed I cannot see your links. But very excited to hear about your creativity.

Oh! And chick! My sister is my mom's fave (by a freaking LONGSHOT! ) And was my dad's too! (Though I think he was just intimidated by me. I know as a young child I was his favorite being the easier one but as I grew and got a mind of my own...notsomuch.)

I worry fiercely about having a favorite child. My favor switches constantly and it doesn't make me love the other less. Of course we've only been doing this 6 weeks.

I think it's somewhat normal to have a fave of sorts. Especially at different times. And as long as you love them all equal and treat them all the same and none of them know you have a 'fave' I don't think it's an evil thing.

I also think this could become more common in families with many children I'd think. With just a duo I'd like to think it's easier to have each be a favorite for different reasons. Whereas with more than that it can be more obvious which personality is more favored since you have more to choose from!

I think I'll stop blabbering in your comments. I'm not entirely certain I made much sense.

And might I mention how darling Saoirse is? Seriously the toddler years are some significantly fabulous years to begin with but what a joyful sweetheart! Messy face and all! (we OFTEN have messy faces over here. In fact more mess than not.)

My brother is totally the family favorite - I think it's a combo that he is the youngest and only son. I'd like to say I don't love one of my kids more than they other - having said that there are situations when I'd rather have the older with me than the younger - or vice versa. So sometimes I prefer to be around one more than the other. Am I going to hell?! : )

I'm pretty sure my mother didn't have a favourite, she loved/s us both so much even if we did/do exasperate her at times!

I definitely don't have a favourite but at times I might feel closer to one child than another but that just depends on all our moods. I do understand my daughter more than my sons, whether that's down to their sex or the fact that she is so similar to me, I don't know.

My sister was the ultimate favorite for sure. And my husband is the ultimate favorite in his family. The golden child. Which is brutal.

I don't think my mom had a favorite, but I am definitely my paternal grandmother's favorite. If I forget her birthday, it's no big deal, she says it's because I'm so stressed and busy. But if my sisters forget? Watch out world!

I love the dirty face pic it goes so well with the devilish grin! To to cute.
I have favorites but they change depending on the day the time and what not. When they were littler though one of my favorite ages was between 1-3 so whoever was in that age group was always my favorite at the time. Now like I said it just depends on who is being good!

My sister was my dad's favourite and it sucked. I guess it boils down to personalities.

My son told me two days ago that he likes his dad better than me. When I asked why he said, "Sorry, Mummy - I love you but Dad answers things better than you - he makes things interesting."

Yeh - they sit around talking about elements and physics and all sortsa geeky shit that goes right over my head. How the hell can I compete with that?

If I had read this two days ago I might have said my son was my favourite because he's the easiest child and we get along so well. But my daughter is such a lovely girl and she is loyal - so I'm picking her now;).

I posted my comment after just looking at the pictures - before I actually read it...

Gotta tell you, while I don't have a favourite (really), Emma is by far Jeff's favourite. Although he claims that Michael is mine. Not true. I do wish, however, that he would pay 1/2 the attention to Micknew that he gives to Em.

Man, I'm gonna sound like a typical Canadian and say that they're both my favourite...for different reasons.

My son is so independent, responsible, and quick to figure things out. But he also rushes through things and has little patience.

My daughter is a creative and gentle soul. She takes her time and really cares about details. But she can be tooooo slow! We're ALWAYS waiting for her.

Sometimes I think my daughter is my favourite because she's most like me, but then I'm reminded of all of the great (but different) qualities my son has.

See? Indecisive-make sure to keep the peace-Canadian!
