At 2 years, 2 months and 2 weeks, Sophie finally had her first haircut! We had tried going last weekend and the girl said "If she's going to cry I can't do it." I thought "What? Don't most kids cry?" But whatever. Saoirse had her hair cut, Sophie didn't. On Friday we dropped Saoirse off at playschool and I said to Sophie "Would you like to go get your hair cut and then Mummy will buy you a bag of chips?"
Whatever works, people, whatever works. I am not above bribery.
As soon as we walked into the hairdresser's she freaked. "I'm not getting my hair cut! No hair cut!" I managed to placate her with some broken crayons and Happy meal toys (this is my salon- definitely not catering to toddlers!) while she gave a quick trim to some man. When he was done it was our turn.
Sophie wouldn't sit on the big cushion so I had to hld her in my lap. There went my plans for first haircut pictures.
She screamed, she cried, she yelled "NO!!!" at the stylist. She moved every which way even though I was holding her as well as I could. The end result is a little uneven, but at least she can see again.
Sophie in September:
Sophie yesterday:
Like I said, it's a bit uneven, but I think it makes her look sort of sweet, even if she was still mad at me in this picture and is giving me dirty looks.

Omgosh! What a difference! Look at those gorgeous EYES!!!!
She is so CUTE! I love her sweet mouth...those lips!
BTW thanks so much for the recipe...I bet they are awesome, not exactly low fat!!!!!
She is so cute, even when she is mad. Of course that could change over the years (cute when mad part).
Aw! How precious. Neither of my girls has had a haircut yet. I want them to have long hair and will deal with having to 'do' it every day to facilitate that. Of course, Brighid has a rockin' mullet right now, but it's alright as we DO live in Alberta...
You have beautiful kids Emma!
Oh yeah: while the Twilight countdown is cool, it cuts of the left part of the post. But it's ok I could decipher what you were sayin': I went to an academic High School you know!
Even when she's giving you an f-you look, she's still really cute.
Hahaha! Mean old Mama, you!
She looks adorable and the fact that it's a little uneven makes her look a little mischievous.
She looks great!! I gave Ryleigh a haircut myself on Friday....she had pictures that afternoon....thank god I didn't f*ck it up!!!
i think she looks sweet. My emily is the exact opposite - she LOVES to get her hair cut and would go everyday. too bad at 3 she still doesn't have a lot of hair to get cut!
Definitely a big difference! Cute as a button either way!
Alyssa will be 3 in January and still hasn't had a haircut.
I love the dirty look! how funny!
Awwww - little love.
And with that determination......What will she be like when she is a teenager??!
Awwww . . . she looks adorable!
She is absolutely gorgeous!!! I would KILL to have that eye color. Man, is she ever going to break a lot of hearts.
I can't believe you waited so long to show those eyes off to the world!!!!
