I am not looking forward to tomorrow, not at all.
It is election day. The day that the Liberals will be knocked out of power by the very frightening Conservative party. I am not foolish enough to believe that the Liberals can pull even another minority win off. I can only hope that Stephen Harper and his right wing buddies will NOT win a majority.
I am afraid of what will happen to this country if they win. Let's face it...these are for the most part still people with Reform party ideology. Including Harper. I do not believe that a person's politics can change so drastically. I just think that he has been told to shut his mouth. This is stil the man who, five years ago, wrote that Alberta should have plans to separate from Canada. This is the man who will reintroduce the right (or lack thereof) of a woman to choose what happens to her body into Parliament. He will have a free vote on the gay marriage issue. These are in my mind issues that have been decided. He has no right to bring us back into the past.
Tomorrow won't be the only terrible day, the next few years look like shite. I'm not going to enjoy living in a Conservative province in a Conservative country. At least I live in a Liberal municipal riding. Not that it really matters.

Amen.
But I'm gonna vote my heart today, and at least I'll feel good about that.
Until I find out that the Conservative in my riding got in by one vote. One vote which could have been prevented had I not voted my heart.
Must... stop... thinking with... head...
Joe
There's still hope, Emma!!
Even with the Cons in power Canada's still more Liberal than the US. But anyway, I will pray for you.
Wait a second, it's today!
Joe, I once almost voted with my heart, but it would have meant voting Conservative and I just couldn't bring myself to do it. It would have meant I supported Ralph Klein, who I do not. However, I loved the Conservative incumbent for my riding, Bob Maskell, who used to come to our School Council meetings and even managed to help our school get a technology grant. He also used to attend our community league events. He was a great guy and I was sad for him when he lost.
I voted Liberal and truth be told I have never seen hide nor hair of him, even though his office is in the building a block away from my house.
Eric, I would hope that we always remain more liberal than the States. But pray away!
